St Myllin’s needs friends

There has been a Christian community in Llanfyllin since 7th Century when Moling, an Irish  monk, set up a llan, probably on the site of the present church. The most recent Palladian Church was built in 1706. The maintenance of the building is now beyond the means of the small group of worshippers who attend regularly.

The church has other community uses.  It is home to the Llanfyllin Music Festival and is a venue for performances put on by local groups.  It has a weekly coffee morning which is an important local gathering spot in the weekly calendar. So, the Friends now raises funds towards the cost of maintaining the building at the heart of the community, for the community.   Friends of St Myllin’s Church is a secular organisation and membership is open to anyone.  We are a charity and our objectives are to maintain, repair, restore and enhance the church building and the churchyard around it for the use and enjoyment of the community in Llanfyllin and the surrounding area.
